The fourteenth Bosphorus Summit was held on 16 – 17 November 2023 at the Conrad Hotel in Istanbul with the theme “Navigating The Next Century: Challenges and Promises”. Many different topics were discussed in the sessions to predict the future and determine the needs of both the private and public sectors. Chairman of DİPAM Dr. Tolga SAKMAN attended the panel on “European Turks: Importance of Their Heritage and Promises Worldwide in The Next Century” moderated by Semra Eren-Nijhar, and delivered a speech.
In his speech, Dr. Tolga SAKMAN explained the political presence of the Turkish Diaspora in Europe and the framework of social and political activities that affect it. He also emphasized the process of political elite formation of the Turkish community and stated that not only conventional political participation factors but also the use of new opportunities and the advantages of professional conditions are effective. The discussion was broadened with questions on the Turkish identity in Europe.
