Biography
Ali Faik Demir, who was born in Istanbul in 1969, graduated from Galatasaray High School and studied in the department of international relations at Ankara University Faculty of Political Science. He completed his graduate program in political science and international relations, which he started at Istanbul University Faculty of Political Science in 1994. During his PHD education at the same university, he conducted research in Paris IEP, EHSSS, INALCO, Strasbourg and Grenoble and received his doctorate in 2000. Ali Faik Demir started to work as a research assistant at Galatasaray University in 1994. Continuing to work in the same institution as an associate professor, Demir is still the Vice President of the International Relations Department at Galatasaray University after working as the Assistant Director of the Social Sciences Institute for 3 years. He gives lessons in “Turkish Foreign Policy”, “Politics in Turkey”, “Turkey and the Turkish World Relations”, and “in the Caucasus and Central Asia Strategy” in undergraduate, graduate and doctoral level . He serves on the advisory board and editorial boards of various journals and publications in the field of International Relations. In addition to his articles in scientific journals, Demir also published the books “South Caucasus from the Turkish Foreign Policy Perspective”, “Leaders in Turkish Foreign Policy” and “Shaman and the Turkish World”.
